A Generous Lodge style Home
This 5,600 sq.ft. home is designed to provide a generous and impressive environment in which to live, entertain, and entertain guests. With four guest suites plus the master suite, a spacious and lofty great room with game room and large gourmet kitchen open to it, and a large dining room with spectacular lofty ceiling and trip-tic view window, it will provide owners with all they could ask for in a Lodge style home.
Rustic stone work and exposed timber truss work throughout gives the home a wonderful ambiance while its large round top windows add a definite touch of grace. The rear side of the house spreads back from the centrally located, octagonal, 2 1/2 story great room opening up panoramic views of the landscape, while the on the front side of the house creating a welcoming, sheltered courtyard as one approaches the main entry.

A New Eclectic Style Blend
This home design presents an original new style created by Leigh Douglas Johnson for home sites in rolling hill country. The style draws directly upon historical Japanese and Chinese architecture and also on the historical Spanish Colonial Revival style. We used a colorful barrel-tile roof, found in both the Spanish and the Oriental sources as is the stucco wall finish. The windows shown here lend a touch of the Craftsman style as do the exposed rafter tails. The subtle flaring of the roof edges and the exterior walls give the whole form a unique feeling.
This is just one possible home in this new style and it may be used for a client's new home or employed in a renovation. The style is adaptable to homes of virtually any size. The wide eave projections are suited for all climates. They help shade the windows from direct sunlight in the summer, while allowing the lower winter sun to enter in. The interiors are open and spacious, with larger windows to keep the interiors full of natural light. The design includes a master suite, guest suite, large entertaining great room, dining room, butler's pantry with its own walk-in wine cellar, large kitchen - family room, laundry, theater, library, a breezy covered outdoor room, semi detached garage complex, 3 other bedrooms, and 6 bathrooms.
The plan of this particular design contains 7,600 sq.ft. of interior living space.
